Brief Description: Worked on main gear leg & interface fairings.
Before determining the position of the leg-to-fuselage intersection fairings, we remeasured the leg fairings center line to be sure it was correct. We determined that what we had previously measured using Van's template was very close. We, therefore, clamped the leg fairings with the worm gear clamps to the legs.
The instersection fairings were then positioned to the bottom of the fuselage and three holes were match drilled for clecos. Two were on the bottom of the fuselage and the third was on the bottom skin overhang that attaches to the wing. The fourth hole will be drilled into the wing root fairing once the wings are installed. Nutplates will be riveted inside the fuselage foreward and just aft of the carrythrough spar. The other two nutplates will be between the wing and fuselage. We may add another layer of glass cloth to the intersection fairings to give them a little more stiffness.
