After rereading Van's instructions, we match drilled the holes to connect the foreward and aft pants together. We also drew the center line over the top of the pants clecoed together. Most of our time today was the iterative cutting process to fit the pants around the tires and axles both left and right. We finally realized the pants had to be centered with the tire tread and not perpendicular to the hangar floor. It takes awhile sometimes to see the big picture (like at least 3 readings of the instructions)!
We clecoed the fore and aft pants over the wheels and fitted the interface fairing that we had purchased from Fairings-Etc., just to see what it would look like. Not too bad! Tomorrow, we'll jack up the fuselage and install the aft pant to the bracket that's attached to the axle nut. Yes, this process is very time consuming, but we see that it can be completed.
