Brief Description: Started on main gear leg fairings.
Today we cut out the template from Vans drawing C3 for the main gear leg fairing. We traced the outlines of the template to the fairings and then using the Dremel with a fiberglass cutting wheel, we cut the fairing to match the template. That was the easy part. Next came the mind game of where to attach the piano hinges.
We first put a fairing on a gear leg with the interface fairings for the wheel pant and fuselage which were purchased from Vans. This gave us a feel for what to do next. After reading the instructions for the third time, we decided we'd had enough for the day and went home to think and sleep on it. Fiberglass work for us is not yet very intuitive.
