Brief Description:  Nose wheel pant and leg fairing work.

Today we started by trimming the excess hardened glass cloth that repaired the ripped nose wheel pant. The repair left a line down the left side which was sanded and with some filler will be OK. Charlotte sanded the rudder bottom enclosure where she had added some filler to the pop-rivets.

We next turned our attention to installing the AntiSplat Nose Job gear brace. After locating the proper position on the gear leg, it went on without too much trouble. The AntiSplat fairing that came with Nose Job was a little too long for our cowling so we trimmed it to fit. We also had to sand off at the bottom of the fairing to obtain the 1/4" minimum clearance between the fairing and wheel pant.

We then measured the leg fairing at the cowling to determine the fairing/cowling interface fairing measurements to place an order from Fairings, Etc. for the interface fairing. Fiberglass work is slow going!
