Brief Description: Lower cowl side flanges installed.
I matched drilled the lower cowling and Skybolt flanges this morning. I then removed them to beburr, scuff, and prime. I used the machine countersink tool and cordless drill to countersink the fiberglass to receive the 3/32" (-3) rivets. I thought about also expoying the flanges but decided that the four to five rivets per flange should be enough to absorb the vibration. After clecoing the flanges back on to the lower cowling I riveted them. The most forward flange had to be bent quite a bit to be riveted into the nose curvature. Tomorrow I'll rivet on the receptacles after drawing the circles onto the upper cowling.
The most forward flange had a good bend.
