The wings rear spars needed to be trimmed before trying to attach to the fuselage. I made a template from the full scale drawing which showed the dimensions of the trim. It was very difficult to measure and transfer the dimensions to the spar, therefore, the template provided an easy way to do it.
After marking the lines on the spar using the template, I cut off the excess metal using a die grinder and cutoff wheel. It cut easily but I proceeded very slowly to not make any mistakes. After the cuts, I used files to fine tune the cut to the marked line. I then deburred and beveled the edges slightly to make it easier to insert the spars into the fuselage fork. After dressing the edges, I scuffed up the previous thin primer and reprimed using rattle can self-etching primer.
