I had to figure out how to center the fiberglass cylinder half on the plywood before attaching them. I sharpied a line down the center of each half before I shaped them with sand paper. Positioning the holes for attaching the light cylinder was another brain teaser. I measured down the light cylinder to the point that the actual light fits up the cylinder to allow a hole for the #6 attach screws to not interfere with the light. The only perpendicular surface to measure from was the light cylinder end flange.
With the hole (down the cylinder) measurements, I located the screw hole positions on the fiberglass halves. I then drilled the holes and countersunk them to accept the #6 screws. Sounds easy but was very confusing.
I inserted the light cylinders into the fiberglass halves and marked the holes onto them using a sharpie through the halves holes. I then drilled the light cylinder holes and tapped them for the #6 screws.
Next I mixed flox and epoxy and filled in the space between the plywood and fiberglass halves. I'll let them cure for 24 hour before sanding and shaping.
