Brief Description:  Tech counselor visit to inspect wiring.

The tech counselor showed up on time and inspected the wiring that I've spent the last year installing. He gave me some pointers about zip tying and wrapping the bundles to make them more ridgid. He emphasized the bundles need to be connected enough to keep them from moving under vibration. He said it's all in the bible (AC43.13 Acceptable Methods, Techniques, and Practices). I do have that manual and have read it when needed.

He said to be aware of where items are placed behind the panel to make it easier to perform maintenance later. He suggested that I remove my Safety Trim and Flaps modules from the middle rib behind the subpanel and place them on 90 degree brackets attached to the rib using nutplates, so that they would be easier to remove and replace while lying on your back under the panel. That was a great suggestion that I'll definitly accomplish.

I then surprised him by saying that I was glad he was here for the first power-up. He just laughed when I said that I would need his help if there is smoke. I toggled on the master switch and lo and behold the D180, D100, transponder, Nav/Com, and 496 GPS all came to life with no smoke. What a great feeling!!

The tech counselor said that I had done a good job.
