Brief Description:  Started install of ELT

My lovely wife bought me an Ameri-King AK-451-2 ELT for my birthday. It's the 406 Mhz, 243.0 Mhz, and 121.5 Mhz version. Seems very expensive but the ELT is a mandatory addition per the FAA. I love my Lady! I jumped on to the VAF forum to see where guys have been locating their ELTs and realized there seems to be an ongoing debate about ELT and antenna location. The installation manual says to install the antenna on the top of the aft fuselage. Guys have put it horizontally under the empenage faring, verically under the canopy, etc. I have dedicided to follow the manufacturer's recommendation.

The ELT itself will be installed behind the baggage area on the center rib between the F-706 and F-707 bulkheads after considering a behind the pax seat location. I ran the coax antenna cable through the bulkheads with snap bushings back to the F-708 bulkhead. I then again read the install manual and the forum and discovered that the cable should not go through a bulkhead because it could be severed in a crash, negating the ELT transmission! Oh well, I'm getting used to reworking my mistakes. I'll take pictures when I'm finished.
