Brief Description:  Installed com & xponder antennas.

Two of the three antennas arrived from Aircraft Spruce last night so today we decided to install them. The transponder antenna was easy. All I did was drill a 1/2" hole next to the left fuel vent and deburred. It was installed using the star washer and nut, and that was it. Oh, I did have to sand off some paint to allow the washer and nut to make a good ground.

The RAMI AV-17 bent rod antenna took a bit longer. First of all I decided to change the location from in front of the spar on the left side under the pilot's left knee, to behind the spar on the right side. The first location was difficult to reach and would have interfered with the routing of the pitot and AOA tubes. The location on the right side is just behind the spar and in the bay just to the right of the stick. The coax cable will be routed through the right spar holes, around the gear weldment, up the vertical stiffener to the subpanel, and then behind the radio stack. I'll wire the coax when my stripping tool arrives from Amazon.
