Brief Description: Installed PTT intercom switches.
I had planned to install the Sigtronics Sport 200S intercom and use only the VOX feature without installing the optional PTT intercom switches. But my buddy John who built and flies a SeaRey amphibian convinced me to add the PTT switches. He said," Just wait until your copilot sneezes with the VOX on, you'll be happy that you installed the PTT switches." They will also be handy for other noisy enviornments, primarily on the ground with the canopy open.
I installed two push button switches on each rail close to the panel. All the switches on the Infinity stick grips were already decicated to other functions. The switch cost was cheap and the installation labor was not great. The decision for their placement took the most time. The placement position gives each pilot a visual indication of intercom activity as each sees the hand of the other pilot pushing the button. The VOX is disabled by simplly turning the squelch to the fully counter-clockwise position. The PTT wiring allows either switch to pull to ground and activate the intercom.
