Brief Description: Installed instrument Panel and Side Brackets
Jeff helped me put the instrument panel in place in the fuselage. I then clecoed the top skin in place and found that the left side of the top skin does not line up with the fuselage holes aft of the instrument subpanel. The instrument panel is just a bit too high, pushing the top skin up and misaligning the holes. I will have to file a little off the edge of the panel to correct this. Done 9/26/09
I clamped the two side brackets in place behind the panel on each canopy side rail. I drilled them in place on the side rail and then drilled pilot holes in the bracket and the panel. I found that I measured incorrectly on the bracket on the left side and drilled partially into the horizontal edge of the longeron.
I wiped linseed oil on the canopy frame inserts for the rails.
