Brief Description: New Side Brackets/Filed Inst Panel Edge
I talked with Ken Scott-Van's re drilling thru the edge of the longeron underneath the instrument panel. He said to use a Scotchbrite wheel and clean up the edge of the hole, so I did that.
I took the top skin off the instrument panel. I made a new bracket for the left side of the instrument panel to the side rail. I squeezed the bracket in the vise to put the eight degree bend into it and drilled the panel and the side rail to the bracket. I then measured and drilled a #30 hole thru the bracket, the side rail, and the longeron. I upsized the hole in the bracket and the panel to #19 bit size and then drilled the bracket for a nutplate and countersunk the rivet holes. I did the same thing with the right side.
