Brief Description:  Fitted ailerons and mass balance

This morning I re-fitted the ailerons to the Zenith(1.5 hours) also had to reconnect the wires for the aileron trim servo, gave it a through pre-flight. I
then did 40 minutes of circuits at various speeds, from 80knots to 110 knots. Things still feel the same which is good, and I could see no sign of any movement or vibration, so I guess so far things are OK and I have not created a bad situation where there was nothing previously. After this I landed, gave both balance arms a through inspection, no distortion of the skins, no poped rivets etc.

Had a look at a Pioneer (low wing similar to the Zodiac) and it has balance arms that are very similar in design and location to what I have done, except rather than a tear drop weight theirs are bullet shaped.

After a coffee I went for another fly just around the local area, by this time the air was not as smooth and the thermals had started having an affect, so again I went through the speed range 80 knots up to 110 knots and again no adverse effects. After 30 minutes of this I again landed and inspected the balance arms. All is still good.

Next week I hope to increase the speed range and take it up to 120knots and then if the air is smooth wind it out slowly to 135knots which is its max strait and level speed witht eh prop pitched to 15 degrees.
