This section requires 8 plies of glass for torsional strength. They are cut at 40 degrees on the roll and then layed up at 35 degress on ther leg.
The first picture shows lines drawn on the glass to help alignment. I setup each piece in position and labeled them. The plys direction need to alternate and two pices are needed for each on to get around the leg.
I cut them 15" wide. The plans say 9" but while this saves glass it makes the process much more difficult. 4 plys go in the first layup then the leg is reversed for the other 4. This way the bare area at the bottom of the layup is covered once on both sides.
Plans say rest on a nail but I made mounts with threaded rod and 5 mt glued the leg to the ends with just one touching the working area in the middle. Positiong the glass first also helped with how I'd do it when things got wet.
