The first 4 months of this fifth year of the build was finishing off the wings. I had alierons to make and all the associated hardware to connect. Pic 1 shows them stowed on a shelf I made, after the shot they were covered in black plastic to protect them from UV and for now they are out of the picture.
Pic 2 shows I spent a lot of time making the front seat side consoles and the curved seat cover that has storage underneath a hinged lid. I also got the stick controls up and running. Then not to mention a lot of time profiling the canard with West system filler.
I made covers for the electric nose lift that I might now replace, I had a nose wheel cover, yeap ditched that too and made another one which is in place.
I spent a lot of time finally glassing the nose area and then making large access hatches that are secured by long pins. The fuselage was flipped and I did the nose gear doors. It seems a year of fiddly stuff that needed doing but took a long time.
This coming year will have to be the 'Year of the Strakes' and getting closer to finishing all the big airframe parts. Wow...
