Time for a little bit of perspex so the gear status can be viewed in flight. I went through 5 dried up silicone tubes before I found one that was OK, it happened to be red rather than clear. However its not visible once the box goes on.
Pic two shows how I floxed the box flush in place. Cleco's worked a treat for this.
Pic 3 and I finally have the gear box in place. I've transitioned the edges now and I won't even both with a ply of BID tapes to blend it. Its rock solid to the floor and a bit more sandpaper on the edges weights less than unnecessary fiibreglass.
There are still gaps forward and aft of the box and I'll fill them with a ply of BID next rime I turn the fuselage over. I'm very keen to have zero air leaking into the cockpit.
