Brief Description:  Canard Top Skin Prep 1

While the canard was bottom side up and secured to the table jigs, here we go again with another leveling exercise.

I made up 4 blocks per plans and had them fitting pretty well and level on top. I'd also removed the pipe in the canard cove as it was slightly short and bondoed in a heavy piece of solid aluminium rod. It does bend over its length but is pretty true with 4 supports along the way.

Once I was happy things were a s good as I could get I 'popped' the canard from the jigs... read here 'created a few dents in the top'. The then bottom jigs came off, a bit of a clean up and now the canard with the top facing the sky. Then another round of leveling and I screwed the timber to the table. I think I have no twist and its as flat as I can make it.

I did 'adjust' the ends slightly, an hour or two of super careful sanding. I'll check again before doing the spar cap. I aslo checked for twist and it seems OK. I know I sound imprecise. Its a difficult thing to measure to within 0.01 of a degree and thats what I'm trying for.
