After a big cleanup of the micro over a couple of days the brake is functional. I have a video of course.
It is quite flush with the fuslage and opens and closes well. In the last picture you can see it is nearly flush with the bottom of the fuselage and a huge amount of trouble was taken to get this close.
I'm still not happy with the closure of the gaps at the edges. It looks a little rough and I'll have another go with the micro and tape. However it is 'proof of concept' and the brake works as it should.
I'll finish this off when I micro the fuselage after the nose is built. Time to move on and keep going.
