Brief Description:  Tank Bracket Installed

Tank Bracket Installed. Fabricated several versions of F-796B until I was able to achieve versions that had nested perfectly into the F-717 lower longerons and F-713 aux longerons and fit tightly against F-902 bulkheads wtih no gaps. Drilled these to the skins and enlarged the holes. Used taped in #40 rivets to hold all the spacers together and drilled one #30 hole and then another. Clamped tightly with clamps and pushed with my hand. All came out great.

Then drilled the tank brackets (steel) F-796As to each side. Did this now as there is no reason not to and I noticed many builders do the same. Vans has you bend the part anyway, so there is more chance of creating worse edge distance issues later than now while there is fantastic access. So I went ahead with it and glad that I did. Worst case scenario, I could always hand fabricate new steel brackets that matched better if needed later. Glad that I have the holes in the right spots and drilled out with max edge distance available. Which is to say it definitely violates edge distance requirements as all builders have pointed out, but I wanted the maximum I could get here, so mission accomplished.
