The axles need to be mounted with a 4 degree camber and a 1/4 degree toe in. Not a simple task to set up.
My idea was to position a board at the correct camber/toe in and then just use a router to make a flat pad at those two angles in the one go.
First up was a simple base for the pad to ease the initial set up. Next task was to calibrate the lasers on this board. If I just screwed them to the board, how do I know if the beam is parallel or not? This was done by measuing the height of the laser at close and far range. They should be the same height above a straight edge right? Well they were not! ...but a few shims and some time and I had my papallel pointing device.
Next was to mount it on the leg in the right position.
