Welcome to my Safari. This is my first experimental build. Those of you who know me are not terribly surprised that I am finally building a helicopter. Most of you question my sanity. Rhonda questioned the status of our wills.

I think the most surprising thing is that the build is not my primary goal. I want to fly helicopters and this is the most affordable way to do it. Of course "affordable" and "helicopter" should never be used in the same sentence.

Because of this, this ship will not be an OshKosh award winner. It will be light, without carpet, with minimal interior etc. The avionics will be state of the art, not so much for the cool factor but because of the very low current draw, low weight, ease of wiring and control from the cylic/collective.

If I had known about these when I was 25 I probably would have built from plans, because I was broke, capable and had the time. But now this is my full blown mid life crisis. I am cleaning out the sawdust in the garage from 3 years of milling baseboards, casing and crown molding for the house. Time to get back to metal.
