Brief Description:  Install Tosten Grips 1

Tosten CS8 (8 switches) grips are going on both pilot and copilot sticks. I did some rough testing to determine I needed to remove almost 8 inches of stick on the pilot side and 7 inches on the copilot side. I used a hand tube cutter and it made perfect cuts. Buffed up the new edges and marked 1/2 inch down for set screw hole to match up to Tosten bushing that goes in the top of the stick. Deburred the new hole and tried out the grip. There was the slightest rocking after tightening it up. This meant the bushing needed a wrap of aluminum tape to eliminate any gaps. One wrap of the self adhesive aluminum tape did the trick. It removed ANY movement. I also noticed on some websites that a 2nd or 3rd set screw hole was drilled in the stick, through the bushing which was then tapped for 10/32 threads. I did not see the need for that so at this point, with everything tightened up, it is solid. I will go with the standard plan.

This is copilot stick, but it shows how much original stick is removed. Almost as much as stayed.
