Manual Reference:  Countersink Canopy
Brief Description:  Canopy Countersink 1

#30 countersink plus 5/32 plexi drillbit and 3/16 plexi drillbit. I finished dimpling side skins for #6 screws, then drilled those out to #23 bit size per Vans plans instruction. Also drilled out the canopy frame holes #23 for those same #6 screws. That gives the screws the ability to shift a little as the canopy swells and shrinks. Its in the instructions. Canopy temperature in the sun was 103.1F. Perfect for drilling into the acrylic canopy. The plexi bits are very pointed and easily penetrate, then scrape the diameter walls to the correct size. I wanted the canopy holes to end up 3/16 diameter to allow tension relief as the temperatures change. First up was countersinking, then widened the #30 to 5/32 then to 3/16. Easy Peezey. No problems.
