After I originally made this hardware with the canopy lock down tube positioned per plans, I added a 1/8 spacer on each side, pushing the lock down tube forward. That caused the hardware to not fit correctly, basically because the threaded tube between the handle and the rest of the hardware was now too long. So, after some testing I cut the tube about 1/2 inch shorter, re-tapped it for 1/4 inch connection and did a final fit. The copilot locking hook had a burr that was hanging up on the locking lug as I was trying to close everything. Slight smoothing of that piece solved everything and the hardware works perfectly. That always makes you smile when you operate the canopy release handle from outside and everything just works. I also had to file the opening in both F657 gussets to let the lockdown lugs pass through. They are the widest part of the ''arc'' as you lower the canoy and they come within 1/4 inch of the roll bar on their way down.
All thats left is to rivet it to the fuselage and paint.
The threaded tube was shortened to fit.
Need to install cotter pins plus correct AN3 bolts in the UHMW blocks now and remove those washers.
