Brief Description: Aileron Boots to Seal Fuselage Opening-3
Since I'm working on the right wing to sweep it further back, I took advantage of the partially pulled wing to install the recently made aileron contol tube boot. 6 holes match drilled and clecoed in place. One relief cut where a nearby rivet was too close to the boot and I pop-riveted the thing in place. Used low volatility blue RTV to seal the material to the fuselage under the attaching ring. Went well and waiting for install of the control tube before securing the small diameter hole to the control tube with a inch wide duct tape wrap for squeezability, and a ziptie to secure the sunbrella against the duct tape. Did the left wing opening a few days later.
One down. One to go.
Left wing.
Left wing ready to accept control tube. Had to move one rivet opening for edge clearance.
