Brief Description: Install Keyed Lock for Canopy Frame
Took the opportunity to finally install the keyed canopy lock. I had to fabricate the correct locking lever because standard ones that come in packages would not work on the airplane. Two 90 degree bends were made after heating the steel bar with my propane torch. When I purchased this lock, I took my starter key and had the key shop match the tumblers in this canopy lock. One key fits both. In the lock position, you cannot access the canopy unlocking lever. It cannot be released to allow swinging it open. You can push the release button, but the lever is held in place with the locking lever. Nice touch. For a small doubler, I used the fitted washer included in the package that would normally be pounded into a wooden door. It had 4 tangs punched into it. I just hammered those back flat and that gave me a standard large washer. Job done.
