There were too many flutes in the top wing rib to use the space between the existing 1.25" rivet spacing for installing K1100-8 nutplates. I decided to drill out every other existing rivet and use that hole as the 2.5inch spacing for fairing screw holes. Those #40 holes will get enlarged for the -8 screws. The nutplate attach rivets will wait until I pull the wings for the last time. All the nutplate rivets will miss any rib flutes.
Drilled out 11 #40 rivets, used a strap duplicator to replicate the hole into the wing fairing.
Strap duplicate one, cleco it, strap duplicate next one, etc. Tried seal fit. Nice.
That bump out slot slips under the wing fairing and resulting pressure forms the curved seal
