Brief Description: Apply 3M Carbon Fiber Finish to Panel 1
I wanted the carbon fiber look on my instrument panel so I put the 3M carbon fiber application on the panel. You peel off the backing, apply the finish using a squeegee and heat gun. Using a sharp snap off razor cutter, you trim all the cutouts and then all the screw and switch holes. Once you get the knack of running the small razor around the circumference of the screw holes, they get trimmed quite nicely. Recessed screws will get their heads and phillips indents painted black to blend in. I am so pleased with it. It came out so nice. I forgot to mention to completely clean the mating panel surface to remove all traces of any foreign matter. I even lightly sanded a couple flush rivet heads to be certain nothing stuck up even the slightest amount.
Test fitted ignition switch and upper panel switches. Wow!.
Center Stack face plates will cover the edges.
Skyviews overlap onto the carbon fiber too. Switch attach nuts do too.
