Brief Description:  Rivet Wing Walk Ribs

These wing walk ribs were the easiest to work with. Access was fantastic. I left the 1st rib bottom flange clecoed. I think I will install nut plates between the pre drilled holes first. Then, when I fit the wing to the fuselage, I can use a 12 inch #40 bit to back drill through the threaded nutplates into the fuselage bottom skin overhang. The #40 bit will use the nut plate as a guide and will not harm the nutplate threads, actually making the nut plate sort of a drill guide. Hope that goes well. Then I would open the #40 holes to #19 for the screws.
I think it will work. Its supposed to be easier than fresh drilling both the wing skin and the fuselage skin overhang at one time. I pulled the conduit through the remaining wing walk rib holes. Moving right along. The wing list is getting shorter. Aileron gap seal, Flap brace. Long aileron control tube. 2nd landing light lens. Nut plates. Prime exposed rear spar and misc parts. Rivet bottom outboard skin. Then finish up the other wing. Oh yeah, by then my next order from Vans will arrive with two new complete flap parts. Oh joy.
