Brief Description:  Aileron stop install and pushrod clearance (Left)

After adjusting the aileron for neutral position, I tightened up the stop nuts on the pushrods. While moving the Aileron through full travel I noticed that there was insufficient clearance for the pusrhod. In fact the pushrod rivet was catching throught the clearance hole at maximum deflection. This would be a serious condition becuase the stick woud not have enough leverage to overcome the rivet head friction. I marked the areas where the clearance needed to be expanded.

Drilled the top hole for the Aileron stop and moved the Aileron to bottom out and adjusted the angle of the stop to match. Drilled second hole and removed the Aileron.

Squeezed both rivets in place and got out my dremel drill and enlarged the pass through hole for the pushrod. Re-attached the Aileron and checked the travel. No bindings on full devlection and the Aileron touched the stop. Full travel in the other direction I noticed some friction at the other end of travel. I will have to remove the Aileron and do a final pass to enlarge another section of the pass through hole.

When this is done I will move on to the other wing and repeat the process. Felt good to motion the push pull tube at the wing root and see the Aileron move up and down.
