Brief Description:  Getting into Aviation

I initially startted this journey in September 2005 when I decided to get my private pilot certificate. Got my student pilot certificate on 7/27/2005. started my first lesson on 8/30 and took a week of vacation and ended with my first solo flight in a Cessna 152 on 9/10/2006 after about 18 hours of dual. I did my first short cross country from Doylestown to Lancaster on 2/17/2006. Finished my long cross country from Doylestown, to Lancaster to Wikles-Barre on 4/21/2007 and got my ticket on 9/21/2007 about a year after my first lesson.

Since then I have flown mainly C-172 from the Doylestown FBO. Did the $100.00 hamburger flights to Ocean City, Sky Manor, Wilkes Barre. The entire family has been in the plane with me since then. The longest flight was to Pickup my Daughter from Camp Arcadia in Maine in August 2008.

I have always had an interest in flying since my father owned a C-150 back in the 1970's, tail 1287Q which still is in the aircraft registry in Southern N.J. I don't think it still on one piece or in flyable condition. With my Dad, I racked up aver 300 hours with him during that timeframe. Building a plane wasn't something that I initially thought I would do, however when you look at renting at the local FBO, there are many drawbacks. Not having the plane available, not being able to go on extended weekend trips, antiquated avionics, beat up interior, etc.
