Brief Description:  Resolved Bad Cylinder #2 Spark Plug

During a pre-flight check and run up the engine ran very rough on the Right Pmag. the Right Pmag runs the bottom spark plugs. After downloading the EMS Skyview Logs and importing into Savvy analysis prgram it became clear that the suspect was the #2 Cylinder. Lookng at the first graph you can see that the EGT for Cylinder #2 cools off significantly (gold colored line) while I was switching between Left and Right Mags.

The Left Mag ran fine during run up so the issue narrowed down to the lower #2 Cylintder. I went out and bought a few new spark plugs and replaced both #2 upper and lower spark plugs.

The lower #2 spark plug was fouled and had some lead deposits. The Top #2 looked fine but I replaced the both.

The second graph clearly shows a consistent EGT after replacing the defective plug. The graph just provides data points to what was a very smooth mag check during the run up.

Nice to see that you can use the EMS to diagnose and isolate engine performance related problems.
