Brief Description: Roll Bar - Trim 631C/D to fi tthe curve of fuselag
The 631C/D angle assembly needs to follow the contour of the side skin thus requires a trim of its own. This actually should not be done until after the angle assembly is drilled to the 705 bulkhead because its impossible to get a good trim fit until the angle assembly is drilled and in its final location. But with out a trim its hard to get the top side skin flush against the fuselage. The location of the angle assembly is dependent on the side skin sitting flush. See the problem? I decided to trim the angle assembly just a bit to make locating the angle assembly easier. Later, after the angle assembly is drilled to the bulkhead I’ll complete the trim for a good fit..
That’s all I have to say about that…
Well, actually, one more thing. I’ve seen build logs showing the trim to be curved. Curved makes sense because the side of the fuselage is curved. But. The fuselage is actually straight for this 1.5” length. So, I used the fast speed sanding disk Fast and precise. It would be tough with the vixen file I imagine.
