Now we need to deal with this last column of rivets that pass through an under lying rib flange. The plans call out for a column of 5 equally spaced rivets. Doing this, the center rivet passes through the edge of an under lying rivet head. What to do. I decided to use 4 equally spaced rivets instead of 5. 4 equally spaced rivets misses all the under lying rivets very nicely. I will have 1 less rivet then the plans call out. Instead of 18 rivets I'll have 17. Do you think the step will fall off having 1 less rivet then the plans call out?
