Brief Description: Rivet up the F-601K Firewall Recess. Part 1.
As a result of fabricating the forward covers you end up with 2 holes in the firewall recess. These holes need platenuts. They fit deep in the recess and the platenut attach rivets can not be squeezed.
My first attempt was to back rivet the platenut attach rivets. I just held the recess down on the back rivet plate and the rivet sat very proud. Darnit. For the next attempt I clamped the recess down on the back rivet plate. This worked. I have nice flush rivets.
All the holes on the recess flanges needed to be dimple. I used the DRDT-2. 6 other holes on the recess that hold the recess together needed to be dimpled as well. I used the squeezer for these.
