Brief Description:  Expand snap bushings, Route Trim cable.

The manual trim cable routes through 9 snap bushings traveling from front to back. But the trim cable end does not fit through the bushing. What’s up with that?

Image 1 shows the too fat cable end, snap bushings and a reamer I found some where. This reamer is really cool. I just expanded the snap bushing inner diameter slightly.

Image 2 shows the hole that the cable exits out of the aft end of the horizontal stabilizer. This hole was to small for the cable end as well. This hole can’t be expanded to 5/8” because of the heavy thick spar bar on either side. So, I used the same cool little reamer to enlarge it slightly with out touching the spar bars on either side. Yea…

Now, its time to route the trim cable. Getting the cable to exit the hole shown in image 2 was a trick.
I pushed through to the forward side of the HS a stiff straight tube. Attached duct table twisted like a rope between the tube and cable end. Push the cable from the forward side and pull the tube/tape on the aft side to guide the cable end to the hole. Easy, worked great.
