Brief Description:  Install DuckWorks landing lights. Part 4

More work on the landing lights.

More problems and corrections.

First of all the strip against the lens on the top had to be reworked. I don't have pictures but the Duckworks instructions show a picture of what to do to this strip for the top only.

After putting the strips on the lens it was obvious that the lens needed more shaping. Easy work on the belt sander.

Image 1 shows how I deviated from the instructions in regards to mounting the light to the light bracket. Instead of using a screw with a washer I used a screw with the black thingies that held the lens in the lens housing that gets thrown away. And I used the the rubber gasket around the lens.

The black brackets replace the washer. The hole had to be reemed out and counter sunk. And, it needed to be samded down to about half of it's origonal thickness. In the end it looks much better and I think functions better then the washer. Oh, I'll have to get longer screws as well.

I have the blue protective stuff on because I'm not primming or painting this thing. So, I want it to remain in perfect shape.
