Time to drill the 705J angle. No match drilling here. Would be nice to have one of those fan rivet location tools.
The plans calls for 9 rivets with the first one 1/4" from the ends. Then each rivet is 1 31/32" apart. Are you kidding me? 1 and 31/32".
Best way to do this is draw the length wise line 1/4" from the bottom of the flange. Then mark the 2 rivet locations 1/4" from each end. To locate the interior rivets, divide the length between 2 rivet locations in half 3 times and you have your 9 rivet locations perfecly spaced 1 31/32" apart. Amazing.
Image 1 shows 9 rivet locations marked and ready to drill. Image 2 and 3 shows the drilling process. I found it better use a smaller #40 bit first, then enlarge to #30. Had better success getting the holes where I wanted them. Also, I didn't use the drill press. Maybe I should have.
