One big advantage of drilling the F-695 gussets before the riveting the firewall on the fuselage is that I can take the firewall off and debur it after drilling the gusset. I actually believe this is a better idea then waiting like the plans specify. There were lots of burrs and material buildup between the weldment and longeron that can only be removed by taking the firewall off.
