So, I like to use my small lath to drill the thick rudder pedal bearing blocks. Gives me a good excuse to use it and I’m assured to get the hole parallel to the faces of the block. My drill press is the smallest, cheapest drill press you can get from Harbor Freight. Good for holes but bad for thick material. I marked and drilled all three blocks using a #10 drill bit. The holes will accept a #12 AN3 bolt but you drill the blocks with a larger #10 because the hole shrinks up after you drill it. Weird.
