This was slow but easy work. Find the stock, Cut in two, Cut off aft flange and angle remaining flange,
Cut the final length, trial and error. Mine are 1/32” shorter then the plans dimension of 26 5/8”. Must be that my firewall is 1/32” aft of where it should be. Detail A on drawing 23 shows 5/8” between the forward edge of F-772 bottom skin and AFT side of firewall. Well, this does not make sense because earlier on, the plans say 5/8” between the forward edge of the F-720 side skin and FORWARD side of firewall. The F-772 and F-720 are flush so how can this be. I think this explains why my holes on the firewall top angle are 0.02” (thickness of firewall) off of the center line. Oh well.
