So, seems the choice is to grind away some of the 729 flange or make shims. I've chosen the shim method. 2 Shims are required. Eash shim is 0.03 thick.
These current shims are an inch wide. I may make them narrower when it's time to use them. But, I'll keep them the full inch width at the platenut location.
The rivets are just sitting in the holes. I actuall will not need these guys for a long while. I just didn't want to rivet up this bulkhead not knowing how I would solve this problem later. I mean, if the plan was to grind away at the flange then it should be done now before riveting.

Update- Don't to this. Just grind away some flange to make room for the rivet head. See 9-22-09 entry.
