Brief Description:  F-704 BH - Drill F-704 Center section vertical bar

The vertical bar shown in image 2 needs 2 holes drilled to #40. First thing you do is to attach the 704C's to the spar using the hardened NAS1307 bolts. The holes in the spar and 704C's have been matched drilled at the factory. The bolts are very tight. I used some motor oil and I could only get them in part way. I put one NAS1307 per side to line things up. Then clecoed. You need the 704C's positioned perfect before drilling the vertical bars.

Then bolt on the vertical bar with AN3-7 bolts and a couple of thin washers as in image 1. You can see the 2 bolt heads. The AN3-7 bolt is shot and only leaves a few threads. This way you do't mess up the threads on the nylon nut.

Now to drill the vertical bar. This vertical bar is thick and the goal is to drill straight through it with out any angle. What I did to assure this is to use my Dewalt drill that has a centering bubble on the handle. Helps in drilling straight down. All I needed to do was to level the spar. You can see the level sitting on the spar.. Worked great. My holes are straight.

Last step is to counter sink the forward hole on the vertical bar. Done.
