Brief Description:  Aileron - Skin/Rib misalignment.

I sent the following text to VANS to see what they had to say.
This misalignment has been haunting me.

"Attached are 2 pictures showing the trailing edge of the aileron.
The pictures were taken with the entire aileron clecoed together.
The misalignment exists even when I remove the skin and end ribs from the rest of the structure.

The top of the picture is the top of the aileron and the botton of the picture is the bottom of the aileron.
This misalignment exists at both the inboard and outboard end on both ailerons.
As you can see the skin is NOT straight up to the bend radius. However, the skin IS straight up to the bend radius interior 5 inches from the inboard/outboard rib locations.
The misalignment is only in the last 5 inches at each end.

Interesting to note is even though the bend radius, at the end rib location, seem to bend down, they are actually raised up 1/16". When I put a straight edge along the length of the aileron at the bend location, the bend radius at the end rib location is raised up, not lower like you may think by looking at the picture.

It's like the rib is turned counter clockwise, raising the bend radius, but
the raising is resisted and curves back down."

The response was

"Best guess is that the trailing edge bend is very slightly off relative to the spar/rib holes. It only shows up at the ends because that's where the ribs are. When did you get your wing kit? "

I mentioned that I was about an hour away and Ken Scott asked if I could drive them down and we'll take some measurements.

So, I did. Bottom line is to scrap the both ailerons and start over. Well, crap. Not really, just kidding. He blessed them and said the pictures looked much worse then the real thing. It will be fine, move on.
That's what Ill do.
