Brief Description:  Locating vertical stabilizer vertically.

Time to clamp the vertical stabilizer to the fuselage for drilling.
It needs to be located vertically and laterally. Finally the lateral angle must be found.

First things first is to locate it vertically. The plans call out a dimension 7 11/32 from the top of the longeron to the top surface of the hinge bracket.

Measuring that exact dimension is not so direct. So, these images show what I did to measure it.

I used a red clamp to clamp a ruler to the fuselage. I clamped it so the top of the longeron is aligned right at 7 11/32 inches. Then using a small straight edge sitting on top of the hinge bracket, I could locate the VS vertically by aligning the bottom surface of the straight edge to the bottom of the ruler.
