Brief Description:  Roll Bar - Bevel the 631B straps and locate.

The plans have you bevel the 631B straps that fit in-between the roll bar channels. I used my vertically mounted belt sander as shown in image 1.

I then just let the straps float in-between the two halves of the roll bar. Using spacer blocks in-between the channels. The strap seems to center and locate itself. With the two halves clamped, I drew lines on the strap at the flange edge location. Then I removed the top channels and re located and clamped the strap on the bottom channels for drilling. Now I get to match drill the strap through the previously drilled channel flange. Easy.

Issue - The idea of trying to measuring the overlap between the strap and bottom flange to locate the strap is a bad idea in my opinion. Just let the strap self center by clamping the two halves together with spacer blocks in-between.
