Brief Description:  New building buddy Mike Bullock.

We had our EAA Monthly meeting at the Parkside Airpark. Mindy normally goes with me but she opted to do something with her friends instead. She said I didn’t give her enough notice. It was a rainy day and all day I waned on weather I wanted to go or not. Back and fourth I went. My good friend David also opted out due to rain. Bummer, I love the Parkside meeting. I’m going, dang nabit.

I got there early and was a bit bummed because none of my good builder buddies were there. Watched 4 RV’s fly in, got in line for dinner and sat by strangers. Then, cool, my good friend Shannon shows up. Then right after him my good friend Bruce shows up with a guest. Awesome, this meeting is looking up.

I moved over closer to Shannon and Bruce and sat down next to his guest. Half way through dinner the meeting started. The usual question came up ‘Do we have any quests?’. Bruce’s guest stands and introduces him self. ‘Hi, I’m Mike Bullock, I’m building a 7A. I’m just days away from completion”. I think to my self ‘Mike Bullock, no?, really? is this ‘the’ Mike Bullock. , the web log I follow in building my own 7A” . Wow it is. He is in town from PA doing business and hocked up with Bruce. Bruce brought him to the meeting. I follow 3 build logs starting with Mike’s. This guy is a rock start to me. Weird I know, but it’s true. We talked and I told him about how I know all about his build because I have been following along.
We jabbered a bunch like all RV builders do when you put us together.

I spent the next hour and a half visiting hangers with Bruce, Shannon and my new good friend Mike.

It was really great. I love RV buddies. My best buds are RV buds.

Time to go. Bruce says ‘Ed, don’t you live near here?’, ‘why yes I do‘, ‘ Ed, lets check out your shop and project’. Cool, you bet, lets go.

We spent another very cool couple hours in my shop. RV guys sure have lots to talk about.

This turned out to be the best meeting I’ve been to. I look forward to shifting modes from building to flying.
