Brief Description:  Rivet seat bottom mounting hinge.

I put off riveting the seat bottom attach hinge until the fuselage was right side up. The bottom hinge will determine the lateral tilt of the seats. I want them straight up and its hard to determine that with the fuselage upside down.

With the seats installed the seat back tops are totally in line with each other. That’s good. The distance between the seats at the top is about an 8th smaller then the distance between the seats at the bottom indicating the seats are tilted towards each other. But looking at how the seat back adjustable brace fits in the slot indicates the seatbacks are tilted away from each other. Hum. A conflict.

Well I went ahead and riveted on the bottom hinge and the seat back fits as shown in image 2 and 3. But I have now found out that the roll bar mounting angles get mounted to the shiny unprimed piece shown in image 2. This brace will extend into the seat back brace and the seatback slot. Material from both will have to removed to make room for the roll bar mounting bracket. Crap.

See drawing 40, Detail A, View B-B and View C-C. All 3 of these show the interference. We’ll be shaving off about 1/8th inch from both the seat back brace and slot.
