Continued to re-work the airbox... I fabricated a template for the mounting plate between the airbox and carburator. It took a few "on" and "off" of the lower cowling to get it just right. Photo #1 shows the alignment is spot on, but it is sitting a bit low in the cowling. The MA4-5 carb came originally off a O-360 in a Mooney M20C and had a machined spacer "Wedge" that mounted between carb and plate for the Mooney Airbox. As luck has it... The spacer wedge works perfectly for my application. Photo #2 shows the alignment after the installation of the spacer... looks good to me, Photo #3 carb heat off...
Now that the template is made... I just need to fabricate the actual plate... either out of aluminum or a composite alterative.
